The performance was realised as part of the project Independent Without borders: Pol(s)ka in Japan 2020 - financed from the funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the 2017-2022 INDEPENDENT Multiannual Programme, as part of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute's "Cultural Bridges" grant programme.

An intermedia performance inspired by excerpts from two novels by Olga Tokarczuk – House of Day, House of Night and Flights. The performance tackles contemporary nomadism, staying on the move, being in-between, but also about the process of rooting, settling in a place, re-inhabiting one's body and discovering its history. Due to COVID-19, Polish and Japanese artists engaged in the process were unable to meet and work in one studio. Hence, they developed a piece, which is also an attempt to overcome multi-layered isolation caused by COVID-19 and embrace precarity.
Home-Flight-Home was performed simultaneously in two locations (Tokyo and Warsaw) and edited in real time into a single image/performance, and then transmitted to the audience in the form of live-streaming.
